The Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Evolving Language is a nationwide interdisciplinary research consortium bringing together research groups from the humanities, from language and computer science, the social sciences, and the natural sciences at an unprecedented level.
In order to underpin its position among the world’s leading research institutions, the University of Zurich has established its University Research Priority Programs (URPP). The URPP create and promote interdisciplinary academic networks in selected focal areas and contribute to advancing knowledge in research fields that benefit society.
Exploring the potential of an aging society will prove vitally important in the coming years. Taking lifespan psychological, neurophysiological, neuroanatomical, and medical foundations for the maintenance of health and quality of life into consideration, the URPP Dynamics of Healthy Aging examines how psychological health and quality of life can be stabilized at low, intermediate, and high levels of functioning from middle adulthood to advanced old age.
