You can check your study progress at any time in the "Study Progress & Graduation" app in the student portal. If you meet all the passing requirements, you can register for graduation.
In the "Study progress & Graduation" app, you may have to assign coursework yourself. You can find detailed instructions on the website of the UZH Student Services.
Academic modules not counted towards your degree must be indicated as such in your academic record. Please assign all modules that are not counted towards your study program to the category «Academic Achievement Not Counted toward Degree / On Academic Record: Total ECTS credits».
If you have completed Bachelor’s modules as part of your requirements for your Master’s program, you must assign them to the category «Academic Achievement Not Counted toward Degree / On Academic Record: Total ECTS credits».
Attention: Bachelor’s modules that can be credited at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level (vertically cross-listed modules) may under certain circumstances be assigned to a Master’s program. This affects fulfillment of the pass requirements to complete your degree. In this case, please request an adjustment to your requirements using the online form.
If you are enrolled in a discontinued study program, the app will show you the following information:
The pass requirements for completing study programs that are being discontinued are not shown. Edit your graduation proposal according to the regulations and submit it in the app. We will review your proposal and adjust it if necessary.
In some cases, a proportion of general studies is included study programs under the transitional regulations. The app indicates whether you can use coursework for General Studies. However, it does not check whether modules have been credited for this. As a result, the pass requirements for completing General Studies are always fulfilled (green).
You must assign modules you wish to use for General Studies in the app yourself. In principle, you can use all UZH modules for this purpose. In principle you can use any UZH module for General Studies, with the exception of German course up to and including level C1.
Before Fall Semester 2019 knowledge of Latin was acquired with the module «06SM_latinum» with 12 ECTS credits using a numerical grade. You can apply for the grade to be given as “passed” rather than as a numerical grade. If you would like this change to be made, send an e-mail with your last name, first name, student ID number, and study program to abschluss@phil.uzh.ch.
The Degree Services of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences can help you with questions regarding the app «Study progress & completion».
